Troubleshooting

Q: The Ridge Tracker Card is not showing up in the Find My app. How do I fix this?
Before you contact support, try this:

  • Make sure the Ridge Tracker Card is charged (charge for at least 1 hour)
  • Press and hold the power button to enter pairing mode
  • Ensure Bluetooth, WiFi, Location Services, and Find My are ON
  • If previous steps don't work: reset the Ridge Tracker Card and restart your phone

Q: My phone says "unsupported accessory." What does that mean?
There are two possible issues:

  • Wrong setup method: You're trying to add the Ridge Tracker Card using AirTag setup. Fix: Use Find My app > Items > Add Item > Other Supported Item
  • Placement issue: The Ridge Tracker Card is triggering an iOS accessory warning because it is placed near the Lightning port or on the back of your phone. Fix: Move the card away from these areas

Q: Why is the location not updating in real-time?
Apple's Find My network is not real-time GPS. The Ridge Tracker Card relies on Bluetooth signals, nearby Apple devices, and periodic crowd-sourced updates. To help reconnect:

  • Walk around with your phone to help Bluetooth reconnect
  • Pull down to refresh the Find My app
  • Use the Find My app to make the Ridge Tracker Card play a sound
  • Verify Bluetooth is enabled in your phone's settings

Q: The Find My app is showing "No Location Found." What does that mean?
This usually happens when the Ridge Tracker Card is out of Bluetooth range (over 300 feet), no nearby Apple device has detected it recently, or the Ridge Tracker Card is powered off, has a dead battery, or is physically blocked.

Q: Does the Ridge Tracker Card have Precision Finding?
No, the Ridge Tracker Card provides basic location tracking with proximity alerts and sound only. Unlike AirTags, it doesn't offer Precision Finding features like on-screen arrows, exact distance measurements, or haptic feedback.

Sharing & Privacy

Q: Can I pair the Ridge Tracker Card with more than one Apple ID?
No, each Ridge Tracker Card can only be linked to one Apple ID at a time. To transfer ownership, remove it from your current Apple ID first, then the new user can add it to theirs.

Q: Can I share the Ridge Tracker Card with other people?
Yes, you can share tracking access with up to five trusted contacts through the Find My app's "Share Item" feature. Contacts can see the tracker's location and receive notifications but cannot modify settings or remove the device from your account.

Q: Can someone else track me with my Ridge Tracker Card?
It's extremely unlikely. Apple's Find My system has built-in anti-stalking protections that detect, alert, and prevent unauthorized tracking. Your iPhone will notify you if an unknown tracker is traveling with you.

Q: If someone finds my Ridge Tracker Card, can they reset it?
No. The Ridge Tracker Card remains locked to your Apple ID until you remove it yourself. Only you can transfer ownership to someone else.

Privacy & Data Protection

The Ridge Tracker Card works exclusively through Apple's Find My network, which uses end-to-end encryption to protect your location data. Apple serves as the sole data controller for all information related to your Ridge Tracker Card usage. Ridge cannot access your location, Apple ID details, or any data transmitted through the Find My network.

Anti-Stalking Protection:

  • For Apple Device Users (iOS 14.5+): Automatic alerts if an unknown tracker travels with you, with the option to play a sound on the unknown tracker to locate it
  • For Non-Apple Device Users: The Ridge Tracker Card automatically emits an audible alert when separated from its owner and in motion

To disable the Ridge Tracker Card and stop all location reporting, press and hold the button until you hear three beeps, then release.
